Is you family a fan of the movie Cool Runnings or the Winter Olympics? Head to Mystic Mountain for a Bobsled Adventure Tour. Inspired by the famous Jamaica bobsled Olympic team, your bobsled ride will have you sliding down the 1000 meter long track installed into the side of a mountain. After your ride enjoy many of  the other free amenities of Mystic Mountain including Mystic Pavillon, Lookout Tower, Mystic Waterslide and Infinity Edge Pool, Hummingbird Garden, and Nature Trail. This tour lasts 6 hours and if offered every day of the week. Minimum age is 3.

Spend the day aboard a Catamaran on this Family Friendly Reggae Catamaran and Snorkeling Cruise. Sail along the Jamaican coastline to the Marine Park for some snorkeling before heading onto Margaritaville for water activities. On the return trip enjoy dancing to Jamaican music, and indulging in drinks and appetizers. This tour is offered Wednesdays and Fridays. Minimum age is 2.

Head to Dunn’s River Falls on the Express Tour climb the 180 foot high falls with an experienced guide. Tour includes private pickup, a stop for lunch (meal itself not included) and a stop at a local craft market. This tour lasts 5 hours and is offered daily with a departure time of 9 am. Minimum age is 3.

Try an eco-adventure on this Jungle River Tubing Experience. Sit back and relax as the lazy river carries you through the rain forest. Experience a little rush while tubing along on some class 2 rapids. Transportation is included. This tour is offered every day except Sundays and lasts 5 hours. Minimum age is 8.

If you are looking to get wet and dirty on your vacation check out this ATV/Buggy Adventure  Drive through the countryside off the beaten path through 980 acres of Jamaican countryside. Stop for pictures with amazing views of the Caribbean Sea, sample fruits and learn a little bit about Jamaican culture. Add on a Dunn’s River Falls Experience for an additional fee. This tour lasts 7 hours and is offered on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Minimum age is 6.

Dolphin fans with limited swimming experience will love this opportunity to interact with dolphins during the Encounter with a Dolphin tour. After learning about these magnificent mammals you will have the opportunity in knee deep water to pet and get a kiss. Also included in the tour is a kayak experience and stingray encounter. Minimum age is 6. This tour is offered at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. More experienced swimmers may want to try the Dolphin Swim Adventure. This tour is offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Minimum age is 8.

Fly through the rainforest, over river canyons and across mountains at up to 35 miles an hour on this Zipline Canopy at Montpelier Outpost excursion. After a safety briefing and demonstration you will journey through six traverses coupled with intermittent nature walks. The grand finale is a 1,265 long traverse, the only zip line of its kind in Jamaica. Minimum age is 6 years old. This tour is offered every day at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. 

Music fans will love this Bob Marley Mausoleum and Nine Miles Jamaica tour  See where Bob Marley grew up and is laid to rest. Learn about the Rastafarian religion, culture and practices. On the way back stop for lunch at one of Jamaica’s famous jerk centers (food not included). Hotel pick-up and drop off is included. This tour lasts 7 hours and is offered every day except Sunday. Minimum age is 3.

Enjoy Deep Sea Fishing with the family as an experienced guide will take you to some of the best fishing spots off the Jamaican coast. Fish for Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Tuna and Sailfish. This tour lasts four hours and is offered weekdays and Saturdays at 8 am and 1 pm. Minimum age is 6 and a maximum of six guests can participate. Light snacks and beverages are also included onboard.

After you are picked up from your hotel lobby you will be taken to the stables where a horse will be selected based on your riding ability. Then head out along the trail passing through farmlands as your work your way to coastline. Once there you are given the opportunity to ride bareback through the sea. Finally you will head through lush gardens with an opportunity to stop for lunch and a drink. This tour lasts 4.5 hours and is offered every day but Sunday.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in Jamaica is Dunn’s River Falls, this excursion, The Dunn’s River Catamaran Cruise starts with a cruise aboard a luxury Catamaran including drinks, music and dancing. Enjoy an opportunity for snorkeling as well before heading to the Falls. Arrive at Dunn’s River Falls and after some instruction join hands to form a human chain and wind your way up the rocky slopes of the 600-ft waterfall led by expert guides. This tour lasts 4 hours and is offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

If you want to take your vacation experience into your on hands try Mini Routes ‘Drive Your Own Adventure’ Take the wheel of a Mini Cooper and head out for some unique stops in Montego Bay and Falmouth. Learn about the historic town of Falmouth, float along the Martha Brae River on a 30-ft bamboo raft, visit the shops of Rose Hall, and then finish up your drive with a stop to eat at a famous jerk stop. This tour lasts 4 hours and is offered on Wednesdays at 10 am. 

How about a play day together on your vacation? This excursion combines zip lines, horseback riding, ATV’s and a climb of Dunn’s River Falls. The tour is offered every day of the week and lasts 6 hours. 

Interested in the rum making process? Enjoy a private tour for two of the Appleton Estate Rum Distillery. Upon arrival enjoy a welcome cocktail and watch a video of the rum-making process. Next see a live demonstration of sugar cane milling followed by visits to the distillery, aging houses, and the cane fields. After you sample 3 different types of rums enjoy a relaxing, delicious local lunch at the estate. 

Not only will you have the opportunity to interact and swim with two dolphins during this Dolphin Royal Swim tour, but this excursion includes a stingray encounter and a kayak experience. You will have about 40 minutes with the dolphins including a dorsal pull, foot push, kiss and a dance with. This tour is only offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Two alternate dolphin encounters include Dolphin Swim Adventure and Encounter with a Dolphin. These tours are also only offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 

Best All Inclusive Resort in Puerto Morelos, Mexico

 

Puerto Morelos is a fishing village south of the Cancun airport. In the town, most of the accommodations are small inns and hotels. Just north and south of the town are several all inclusive resorts. This area is a great choice for people who love pools, want to be close to the airport, and have easy access to excursions. The beach in this area tends to be a bit eroded with a higher chance of seaweed during the summer months.

Stay on the Secrets side if you want a quiet pool option. 

El Dorado Casitas Royale - El Dorado Casitas has one of my favorite suites: the Honeymoon Private Pool Swim Up Casita Suite. I love how each casita section has its own swim up bar. This resort has a more natural, Mexican feel. 

Family Resorts 

Margaritaville Island Reserve - Margaritaville Island Reserve is a great choice for travelers who want a small resort with great music. The staff here is so friendly. 

Now Sapphire - Now Sapphire has another of my favorite suites: Preferred Club Junior Suite Beach Front Swim Out or Preferred Club Master Suite Beach Front Swim Out. This Now Sapphire suites are two of the very few true beachfront swim up suites. Now Sapphire will change names to Dreams Sapphire in October 2021. 

Azul Beach Riviera Cancun - Azul Beach Riviera Cancun has great large suites. Azul Beach Riviera Cancun is part of Karisma so the dining is gourmet inclusive. Plus Le Chique - one of the best restaurants in Riviera Maya is right on the resort and available for an extra charge.
