Located in the Hotel Zone is Aquabounce, an inflatable obstacle course located on the water. Guests navigate through slippery stairs, wobbly platforms, giant slides, trampolines and moving platforms. Minimum height is 3’2”, life jackets are obligatory.
Mexico’s Xcaret Park in Playa Del Carmen offers more than 40 attractions and activities for all ages to explore. There are beaches, natural pools, cenotes, underground rivers, jungle trails, and cultural presentations. Activities perfect for ages 12 and under include Children’s World, an area with water slides, tunnels, hanging bridges, climbing nets, and obstacles just for them! There is also a separate area for under age six which has a wading pool, sandbox and water jets. Other kid-friendly areas include the Butterfly Pavillon, Aviary, Coral Reef Aquarium, Sea Turtles, and Jaguar Island. Some activities such as swimming with dolphins, snorkeling and the interactive shark adventure do have an additional fees. Children 4 and under are free.
If a Dolphin Encounter is on your vacation wishlist check out this excursion in Isla Mujeres for ages 6 and up. During the encounter guests will be able to meet and interact with the animals including kiss, hug and other activities. Lunch and drinks are included. Slowly and smoothly rise up from a platform on the back of the boat and take in the views of Cancun. Minimum age is 5. This excursion is offered daily and parasail flight time is 10 minutes.
This Tulum and Jungle Maya Native Park Tour offers some education and lots of fun! Start your day by visiting the ruins of Tulum, the only ancient Mayan city by the sea. After spending about an hour and 45 minutes exploring the ruins continue your day with a rappel into a cenote, followed by ziplines and snorkeling in an underground river. A traditional meal is included with your tour. This tour is offered 6 days a week and is 10 hours long, and the minimum age is 6.
Another well rounded expedition is the Tulum, Coba and Maya Village Tour offering a rare look into the Mayan culture. Visit both the archaeological sites of Tulum and Coba and learn about an authentic Maya community. End your day with a swim in a Cenote and a traditional meal. This is an all day tour beginning at 8 am and lasting 10 hours, it is only offered on weekdays. Minimum age is 6 years old.
The Captain Hook Pirate Dinner Cruise is a fun outing for the whole family! Board an 18th century replica Spanish galleon for an evening of fun. For dinner choose from chicken, lobster or steak then after dinner be entertained with games, pirate antics and a ship-to-ship battle. This excursion lasts 3 hours and is offered daily. No minimum age.
Explore the coastline of Cancun from a Waverunner Rentals are available from various locations around Cancun for 30 minutes or an hour. Jet-skis are two-seater and minimum age to drive is 16 years old and to just ride is 5 years old.
Families looking to fish should consider this 6 hour fishing tour that starts from the Cancun Hotel Zone and offers an economical way to go sport fishing. Target species include Barracuda, Bonito, Trigger Fish, Pompano, Grunt and Snapper. The tour starts at 7 am, enjoy the sunrise as you watch the crew prepare the bait and throw the lines. Practice trolling or bottom fishing. This excursion if offered daily with a maximum of 6 guests. Minimum age is 10 years old.
