Katy, our travel concierge, pulled together this great list of Aquarium tours:
This week’s virtual trip is inspired by my daughter who has been enjoying the Facebook Live presentations by the recently opened St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station. This facility just opened on Christmas Day last year, but since their temporary closure they have been providing several virtual educational experiences each week. I thought I would share this as well as a few more from Aquariums around the country that are also providing some great online content that you can enjoy from home.

The St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station typically offers their live virtual classes on  on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 am CST. Previous virtual educational experiences have included Breakfast with the Reptiles, Breakfast with the Sharks, Virtual Otter Chat with Tommy the Otter, and much more. After each session is over the Aquarium posts a link to a short quiz and a craft related to the session. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday they run a Live Quaranstream of their tanks and habitats beginning at 10 am CST. They also recently held a contest to win tickets for when they re-open. To view information on their virtual events, please check out their Facebook page.

The Georgia Aquarium located in Atlanta has a dedicated page on its website to At-Home Learning. They have linked several webcams, including ones to the Southern Sea Otters, California Sea Lions and the Indo-Pacific Barrier Reef exhibits. They also have posted Deep Sea Learning Videos, Exploring Animal Facts & Figures, as well as a virtual Field Trip Fridays series. Their Facebook page is also a good source for some virtual videos. Click here for a cute video of some kittens who recently went exploring around the Aquarium.

The New England Aquarium located in Boston, MA offers live presentations every day at 11 am EST on their Facebook page. You can also find previous presentations on their website as well as at-home projects and activities that you can do with your family. Their Giant Ocean Tank is also linked to a 24-hour webcam, and there is a question and answer section about the bottom where you can learn more about the tank and its residents.

The Tennessee Aquarium located in Chattanooga, TN has a webpage dedicated to fun at-home aquarium experiences that you can enjoy anytime. There are live webcam views of several exhibits including River Otter Falls, Penguins’ Rock and and the Secret Reef. You can also find printable worksheets, coloring pages, an Ask the Aquarium Series, IMAX at home plus much more. In addition, their Facebook page offers live speaker chats several times a week from their Animal Care Team.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is offering Live and On-Demand programming during the facility’s temporary closure. Live courses and On-Demand content is broken down by grade range. There is also On-Demand content for adults. Check out their Facebook page for even more content.
