Live Aqua is an adults only luxury resort near the Hotel Zone in Cancun, Mexico. The resort sits across the street from a high end mall. The resort is part of the Posada group and offers time shares. The hotel offers 371 suites. The vibe is modern.

Pools

The highlight of the property to me is the infinity pool. It’s gorgeous. Umbrellas and cabanas are available by the pool for shade. Cabanas are included with Aqua Suites and above. Other lower room categories can rent a cabana for $60 - $70 per day once they arrive. The vibe around the pools is pretty quiet. The main pool and swim up bar have some activity. Pool service will bring drinks and food to you as you lounge.
Don’t Miss: The Ceviche at the Pool restaurant.

Beaches
The beach is pretty good with some seaweed in the water. The resort has a great option called the “middle” - a tiered section on the way to the beach with sand.

It’s a great option for a little more privacy. You can receive food and drink service in the middle, but on the beach servers can only deliver drinks.

Restaurants
It’s a high rise building with 8 restaurants. Only 2 of the 8 restaurants are air-conditioned. That’s definitely something to consider if you are traveling in the summer. One restaurant has a surcharge - the steakhouse that features lobster.  The resort also has a Starbucks. It’s not included.

For guests with food allergies - 95% of the menus can be gluten free. The Chef can meet with you and personalize the menus.

Don’t Miss: The Hidden Garden and the Flambé drinks and  Sushi Station near the Lobby Bar

Activities
Lounges are open until 1:00 am. In general, it’s not a party environment. The activity staff will lead an outing to Coco Bongo.  The Fitness Center is included The Spa has a wet area available for around $15.

Rooms
All rooms are ocean facing, but some rooms don’t have a view because the palms are so tall. The rooms come with a safe with a charger.  The orientation of the resort is to the east so you’ll get sunrise views. Room service is available 24 hours and the rooms have a mini-bar with beer, water, and soda. WIFI is included and available at the beach, restaurants, and in the rooms.  The Suites , starting with the Aqua Suites, include cabanas, a lounge with snacks and top liquor brands, and a Nespresso machine.

Don’t Miss:  Watching the sunset over the lagoon from the Aqua Club lounge if you book an Aqua Club room or higher.

One note about the resort - it has a lot of scents. If you are sensitive to scents, you may want to pick a different resort or be sure to note it when we make your booking.

Overall, this resort is a great fit if you are looking for a modern, chic vibe and envision your vacation with a lot of time by the pool or beach. Pool service that includes food is a terrific amenity.  Personally, I would upgrade to the Aqua Suite for a pre-reserved cabana every day.
