In January 2014, my husband and I took a 4 night cruise from Tampa on the Carnival Paradise. The itinerary was two Sea Days and one stop in Cozumel. This cruise was complimentary from Carnival since I am a travel agent.
This review is a difficult one to write since the first day my husband woke up with a case of food poisoning. It made the first day difficult. Luckily, he was 80% by dinner time and was able to mostly enjoy the rest of the trip. It did put a damper on our overall experience.
The Ship - On our first walk through of the ship - we really liked it. The atrium was really pretty.

We were really impressed with the Pool Deck DJ. He really got everyone up and dancing as soon as we got on board and kept the party going through sailaway.

We were really impressed with all the areas to relax and enjoy the sun. This is a small pool with two hot tubs on the top, back of the ship.

Plus there's an adults only Serenity deck with two hot tubs and upgraded lounge chairs.

The common areas were really well done. Several lounges, a night club, coffee bar, extra seating and the casino offered several location to read a book, enjoy a drink or meet some new friends.

We were disappointed with the food. The dining room food was inconsistent - sometimes bland, other times too salty. The service on board was very good. The bartenders were friendly and remembered our names and our drink. The Piano Bar was usually hopping. If you can overlook some of the inconsistencies with the food, then I think you'd have a great time on the Paradise.
