Go Deluxe Room at Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel |
Here's her review:
We had a great trip! The Flamingo was perfect. We had no problems with construction and our room was nice. Nothing too fancy, but that's not what we were wanting anyways. It was very clean and updated. The construction is on the south side of the hotel so I can imagine people staying on that side of the hotel would have a problem with construction noise. Since our room was on the inside facing the pool we had no problem with anything. It was the perfect place to stay for where we are at this point in our lives. We did mention to each other that as we get older, have more money, and come back more (which we are absolutely going to do) we would want to stay somewhere a little more modern and with more food/shopping options/nicer casinos, but we aren't to that point yet. So it was perfect for anyone in our age range or people that don't want to spend an absolute fortune. I had no idea how expensive Vegas could be! The pool is a lot of fun at the Flamingo, too. One problem was that people can be so rude and they go claim lounge chairs right at 9:00, but don't come to the pool until 2:00. It made it tough to find a seat but it ended up fine for us since we got there early.
The location was perfect as well. Right in the middle and a 10 minute walk to anything.
As far as gambling goes we spent most of our time in the Quad. Since I had never gambled before I didn't want to annoy people at tables by not knowing what to do or sit at $25 min. bet tables only to lose all my money in 5 minutes. The Quad had perfect $5 tables and we were frequently served. It was a nice atmosphere too. We had the best breakfast ever at a place called Mon Ami Gabi. It's a French restaurant outside of Paris that has a nice heated patio and great food/service. I would recommend it to anyone! It also serves lunch and dinner. Very well priced. We were mad we didn't try it until our last day because they had a great bloody mary bar too!
We went to Table 10 in the Palazzo for dinner on Friday. Great dinner as far as food goes, but we were treated horribly! We attribute it to the young diners stereotype that people put on us. But the food was fantastic! I just wouldn't recommend it as a place for a couple our age to go. If you are going to be spending $30+ on a entree you want the experience to go with it.
Very long review, I sometimes get carried away! We had such a great time and are already talking about going back soon. We will be sure to get in touch with you when we are ready. I'm so happy my mom sent me your information, you make traveling so much easier and painless! We were very pleased that the Flamingo was exactly what we were expecting based on what you had told us.
